Everyone deserves a healthy mind

Importance of Lab Work

At Tampa Bay Psychiatry, we encourage all patients to check their labs to ensure the “building blocks” to optimize mental health are in place.  These labs cover vitamin, enzyme, and hormone deficiencies that have been shown to be detrimental to mental health. Our bodies require a daily intake of essential vitamins and minerals in order to properly function. If one of these vitamins is deficient, it can result in serious health problems.

Once your lab results are completed we send a comprehensive lab review email detailing which supplements should be incorporated into your daily routine in order to eliminate those deficiencies or improve your levels.

Ways to Supplement Deficiencies at TBP

  • Oral Supplements from a trusted brand such as Pure Encapsulations or Designs for Health. While taking a daily oral supplement is a great option, it can take up to several months to get your vitamin levels where they need to be.

  • For efficacy we offer a multitude of IV Infusions tailored to fit your needs. An IV infusion involves a small tube called a catheter and a saline-based electrolyte solution that contains your selected vitamins and nutrients. An IV infusion delivers these essential nutrients and fluids directly into your bloodstream, bypassing your digestive tract. Our goal with IV infusions is to promote cellular healing through micronutrient dosing. IV Infusions can take anywhere from 30 - 90 minutes, depending on the supplements being administered.

  • Intramuscular Injections. Injections are a great option for those with a busy schedule who may not have time to stay for an infusion. Injections are quick and easily administered. We offer Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, and Glutathione injections at this time.

Additional IV Infusion Options

  • Myers’ Cocktail
Used for enhancing wellness, improving energy, brain cognition and enhancing recovery.

  • NAD Therapy
Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide is important in cell nuclear DNA repair. NAD occurs naturally in your body and plays a major role in the chemical process of generating energy. NAD is probably the most important cofactor for improving mitochondrial function. Mitochondria are intracellular organelles (aka energy powerhouses) where macronutrients are converted to energy rich ATP molecules for the cell. NAD helps the liver break down fats that are essential to provide energy for the body. It also helps create ATP, which is a major source of energy for cells.Boosting NAD may help with a wide spectrum of diseases. Research has also shown that NAD can improve mental clarity, alertness, concentration and memory. Moreover, this infusion can help with addiction, athletic endurance, and reverse the symptoms of chronic fatigue. Dosing ranges from 125mg to 500mg.
